ecocabane-view-above

This educational hut, which meets the criteria of rural architecture, is built entirely of indigenous wood. It can accommodate a maximum of 30 people and has a floor area of +/- 80m2. It operates in a self-sufficient manner through the application of renewable energies such as:

  • Central wood burning stove for cooking and heating, solar oven
  • Small kitchen with refrigerator and wood cooking machine
  • Production of electricity with photovoltaic solar panels for refrigerator and lights.
  • Rainwater harvesting for toilets (accessible from the outside, no bathroom)
  • Connection to the biological wastewater treatment plant on site.

It is important to note that the educational hut is located on the "Natur pur" educational trail, which was developed by the Water and Forestry Administration as part of the development of the "Pont Misère-Retention Dam" and "Pont Misère Wetland" nature reserves. At present, two loops of 1.7 km and 7 km respectively are marked out. The nature trails ensure that the general public has access to the nature reserves and at the same time guarantee maximum protection of the ecologically sensitive sites.

The educational trail combined with the ecocabin will channel visitors and generate a respectful attitude towards the natural environment by transmitting knowledge/understanding the respective issues.
