The Misaershaff celebrates 30 years!

In 1993, the FNEL scouts and guides, with the support of the state and the municipality of Rambrouch, were given one of the most beautiful places in Luxembourg to camp with the children and young people and to offer adequate training to the leaders. After 10 years of renovation work, the courtyard was ceremonially inaugurated by the Chief Scout, Grand Duke Jean. The new house is open to all children and youth groups from home and abroad: school classes, fire brigades, Maisons Relais, cultural and sports clubs and of course scout groups. In the house there are 6 dormitories with 40 beds, a refectory, a beautiful large banquet hall with an open fire and a professional kitchen. 160 people will spend the night in tents on the 7ha large meadows, right next to the Misärsbréck and the reservoir. Hedges, trees and an orchard were planted. In 2012, we added the Eco-Cabane, which is available for environmental education activities, in collaboration with the Center de découverte de la forêt Burfelt. The reservoir and the surrounding nature provide an idyllic setting where young people can experience nature. The Misaershaff is located in a Natura2000 zone and the drinking water protection area of the reservoir. This brings with it a number of requirements, but also the chance to explain the connections to the boys and girls and is very practical for raising awareness of the environment and nature. We feel comfortable in our home at the traffic jam. The Misaershaff, open to everyone, should also continue to be attractive. That's why a lot of volunteers get involved!

The FNEL (www.fnel.lu) has two scout groups in the canton of Redange: the Rammericher Fräschen www.fraeschen.lu and the Réidener Luchsen www.luchs.lu

What and who are the FNEL Scouts? In Luxembourg, Scouting was created in 1914. In 1922 we were founding members of WOSM (World Organization of the Scout Movement), the largest youth movement in the world today there are 57 million boys and girls. Scouts are an educational movement: Learning by doing, playing together in a group, experiencing, planning and taking responsibility and always giving one's personal best, that is our goal. Giving the boys and girls values such as honesty, democracy, tolerance and respect along the way is an important lesson for us. The framework of our activities is nature. Since the foundation of Scouting in 1907, nature has been the central element of our method. Experience nature, get to know it, protect it commit! That's why we are committed.
